i've come across this site " http://www.peacecorpsjournals.com/", its a listing of blogs from different peace corps volunteers currently serving in various countries. some of the blog are pretty serious to my liking, almost academic, to hard to keep on reading. some blogs are sad and angry, full of rants, you could tell that the volunteer is trying his/her best to not give up volunteering. what i like most are fun to read blogs of these volunteers, detailing their daily adventures/misadventures and have a laugh at it, accepting the challenges they're facing. i especially like it when theres's a ton of pictures, its as if i'd been there my self. the good thing about these photos are that they reflect real life, not the sort of things you see on postcards, and with the stories that comes it , its as if you've been there yourself.
these volunteers are real troopers, sharing 27 months of their life to be of servive to their country and the country they're assigned to. directly touching the lives of people and hopefully changing them a little better. some of these volunteers gave their life in service, i mean it literally. some continue volunteer work even after they're done with the peacecorps.
